Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan

Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Update:

 

Polk County and its cities, in collaboration with the Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience at the University of Oregon's Institute for Policy Research and Engagement, has updated the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan seeks to mitigate vulnerabilities to natural hazards in Polk County, keeping people safe and protecting the infrastructure and environment that make Polk County a special place to live, work, and recreate. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) completed a pre-adoption review of an update to the Polk County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, and committed to approve the plan upon receiving documentation of the County’s adoption of the plan. On August 14, 2024 , the Polk County Board of Commissioners (BOC) held a public meeting to discuss adoption of the updated Polk County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. On September 4, 2024, the BOC signed Resolution 24-10, adopting the Polk County Multi-Jurisidictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. On September 19, 2024, the 2024 Polk County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan became effective.
